Who's Glassprarts & Why?
Glassprarts wanted to produce custom made windows and lampshades that were beautifully designed, with an original look.
Melissa completed a Bachelor of Arts, Fine Arts (Visual Arts) in 1993 at the University of South Australia, Underdale, majoring in printmaking and photography. That didn't stop her love of painting or working with glass, also experimenting with fused and hand blown glass.

2004; FITZROY GALLERY Melbourne, 'Dreams Verses Reality' First solo exhibition of paintings based on contemporary life issues and her dreams.
1996; CORNUCOPIA GALLERY Sydney, exhibited two hand painted fused glass pieces.
1992; ARTZONEGALLERY Adelaide, 'One six two zero' Photographic exhibition of graduating students from the University of SA Underdale.
1992; GRANGE GALLERY Adelaide, exhibited a selection of paintings, prints, glass & sculpture.
1991; THE LOFT GALLERY, Living Arts Centre Adelaide, 'Fish Have Problems Too' A collaboration of Uni of SA students exhibited prints, photographs & paintings.
Who Are We?
Glassprarts started in 1996 extending it's services to Adelaide, Sydney and finally Melbourne. Originally known as Melivision, then Melissa H Designs, finally changing the name to "Glassprarts". Melissa A Hawkes, the founder of Glassprarts wanted to include many crafts for sale, encompassing; leadlighting, copperfoil glass, printmaking and paintings.
